OPENLAB

Design of bags from the leather scraps of the social cooperative RE.LEG.ART

Cover image for Openlab - Sopralluogo alla cooperativa RE.LEG.ART.

RE.LEG.ART, a social cooperative active since 1981, promotes the work inclusion of people with disabilities through craftsmanship. With the Open Lab project, it creates an accessible workshop based on co-creation, design thinking, and sustainability, producing bags and accessories from recycled leather. The rebranding enhances the visual identity with an open circle, a symbol of inclusion and freedom, and a key as an emblem of accessibility. The re-design project focused on the Geometry Volume line, revisited through new textures created with the logo pictogram, repeated to completely cover the product surfaces. The bags feature embroidery with words and phrases related to inclusion and sustainability, reinforcing the brand's ethical and social message through aesthetics and form.
