PROVISIONAL WORKS

Securing Palazzo Bernabei in Assisi through scaffolding

Cover image for Provisional Works

The project involves a temporary safety structure for the facade of Palazzo Bernabei in Assisi, designed to withstand seismic events without obstructing the use of the street. In addition to its structural function, it integrates an elevated walkway and a panoramic terrace with a view of the Basilica of San Francesco, enhancing the urban space. Made with metal tubes and screw foundations, the structure is colored with the tones of the peace flag and enriched with suspended hemp seats, creating an accessible and symbolic temporary installation. In the lower part, there are information panels and graphics on the theme of resilience and design for emergency, which tell the story of the project and the role of design in reconstruction and urban regeneration.
